POPPY FIELDS

Global conflicts are increasingly fuelled by the desire for oil and natural gas and the funds they generate. We live in an energy centric world where control over oil and gas resorces translates into geopolitcal clout for some and economic vunerabilty for others. A rough figure of 150 million - 1 billion people have been killed as a result of these oil wars.

With such ariel abstractions, the landscape of these deadly and seemingly endless wars becomes a contradiction of obscene dimensions. An extraordinary aesthetic of perverse beauty marks the death of millions and scars not only our planets surface, but its core.
